Montreal- 22 April 2026 — Her Excellency Professor Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, High Commissioner of Ghana to Canada, delivered diplomatic remarks at McGill University’s inaugural Global Engagement Forum, an event marking the public launch of the University’s Global Engagement Strategic Framework 2026–31.
The High Commissioner emphasised the longstanding cooperation between Ghana and Canada, including Quebec institutions, and emphasized the value of partnerships that are co-designed, mutually beneficial, and grounded in local priorities. She noted that such collaborations strengthen research capacity, expand educational opportunities, and create pathways for meaningful knowledge exchange.
The High Commissioner also highlighted the Nkabom Collaborative, McGill’s flagship partnership in Ghana as an example of how universities can collaborate with communities to advance practical solutions in education, health, and capacity building. She encouraged continued investment in reciprocal engagement, and the role it plays in advancing community-anchored research and innovation.
McGill University’s Global Engagement Strategic Framework 2026–31 sets out a vision for intentional, long-term partnerships that contribute to global sustainability, innovation, and capacity building. The Forum marks an important milestone in advancing this vision and strengthening ties between McGill and its international partners.
